Galway County Local Community Safety Partnership Public Consultations

Galway County LCSP identifies priority concerns, coordinates responses, and is legislatively required to develop a Community Safety Plan that reflects the needs and lived experiences of people in Galway County. The purpose of our public consultations is to establish a clear baseline to support the development of the Galway County Local Community Safety Plan. By sharing your experiences and perspectives on community safety, you will help shape the actions and priorities that guide this work. A public information and consultation meeting will take place in each of our five Municipal Districts. We invite all residents of County Galway, aged 12 and over to participant in the our public consultations.

Galway County LCSP’s community engagement plan will be implemented to ensure that the Community Safety Plan is shaped by meaningful input from diverse voices across Galway County. Community safety refers to the collective efforts that help people feel safe, supported, and connected in their communities. It involves the physical, social, and environmental conditions that contribute to people’s sense of wellbeing, including how safe they feel in public spaces, in their homes, and moving around the county. Community safety is shaped by the work of multiple partners, local authorities, An Garda Síochána, HSE, Tusla, statutory and voluntary services, community groups, and residents themselves, working together to address local issues, prevent harm, and promote positive, inclusive environments. All responses are anonymous and will be used solely to inform the plan. When you submit this form, it will not automatically collect your details like name and email address unless you provide it yourself.

Galway County LCSP is very interested to hear from you.

All are welcome to attend our Public Consultations in Ballinasloe, Tuam,  Loughrea, Connemara, The Islands or Athenry.
