N67 South of Ballinderreen Cycleway

Active Travel Scheme

 

Public Notice in compliance with Part 11 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), as set down in Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended).

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Galway County Council propose to carry out a development in the townlands of POLLAGH, MULROOG EAST, GORTAROE and BALLINDERREEN comprising of the following works:

  • Provide a shared, two-way 3.0m wide, cyclist and pedestrian facility from the village extents of Ballinderreen to the existing shared facility south of the village on the east side of the N67.
  • Provide a new controlled crossing just south of the service station to connect the new shared facility to the existing footpath on the west side of the N67.
  • Carry out other necessary ancillary works to footpaths, landscaping, road markings etc. to support the new shared facility and controlled crossing.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for viewing for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal office hours from Friday December 8th 2023 until Monday January 15th 2024 at the following locations:

  • The Planning Office, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91H6KX
  • The National Roads Project Office, City East Business Park, Ballybrit, Galway, H91KT67

Submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing to the Planning Department, Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91H6KX or in electronic format via the special website at Online enquiry system | Planning (localgov.ie) (LGMA Online Portal) to arrive not later than Monday January 29th 2024.
