A Gort Ecopark & Amenity Hub is a unique opportunity to transform a previously unusable landfill site into a vibrant community, recreation, and tourism asset. With the planned remediation of the landfill, and reimagine this space as a biodiversity-friendly ecopark that includes walking and cycling trails, green open spaces, a cycle hub, and community facilities. This project would provide a much-needed recreational area for residents and visitors, supporting sustainable tourism and active travel, remote working while enhancing Gort's natural environment.
