I very much support this submission by the Gort Biogas Concern Group, see attachment. 

Since 2018 the Gort community has strongly opposed plans for an industrial size biogas plant in their town. Galway County refused this planning application ref 191812 but An Bord Pleanala overruled Galway Co by granting planning permission. Gort residents donated very generously to support a Judicial Review of ABP's decision. This JR was won but the judged returned the application back to ABP for a remittal. We are still awaiting decision by ABP.

A large industrial development like this biogas plant will have a huge impact on the town and will be a serieus threat to Gort's aspiration and plans for a sustainable future. 

This draft Gort LAP 2025-2031 totally ignores the reality of the threat of this application at the edge of the new LAP bounderies, while, if this planning application can go ahead, it will badly affect plans of this draft LAP plan.
