Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to request the removal of my family lands from the Galway County Council Residential Zoned Land Tax maps for 2025 and 2026.

I wish to remove the above land parcel from the RZLT map due to the following reasons:

1) This land is not vacant or idle.  This land is being farmed on for a number of generations. I ask you to remove my land from this plan as it is, and always has been, used solely for the purposes of agriculture for generations before me, and I hope will remain that way for generations to come.  This is Department of Agriculture, Food & Marine Parcel number [REDACTED].

2)  And part of it is my garden where I pay local property tax (residential properties are not subject to RZLT if they are subject to Local Property Tax).   My house’s eircode is [REDACTED].

On your website, you state that the objective of the Residential Zoned Land Tax is “in order to increase housing supply and to ensure regeneration of vacant and idle lands in urban locations”. My lands are not, and never have been idle or vacant, and so I feel this should exempt me from being rezoned and liable for this proposed tax.
