Under Section 38 of the 1994 Road Traffic Act, a Road Authority may in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users provide such traffic calming works as it considers desirable in respect of a public road in its charge.
Galway County Council proposes to implement a Safe Routes to School Scheme at the following location:
L-41034 Ard Na Mara Road, Oranmore, Co Galway.
A summary of the proposed measures for this location (Subject to funding) are:
Junction tightening with a raised Toucan Crossing and connection to the existing cycle facility on Main St.
Enhancement of the existing cycle way both sides of Ard Na Mara Road.
Rearrangement of set-down (adjacent to Scoil Íosa, Campus 1).
Road Markings.
Pencil bollards & Delineators.
Safe Routes to School signage.
