Project outline

As part of the Regeneration Project for Bridge Street in Dunmore the public are invited to have a say on the Dunmore Urban Regeneration Plan for Bridge Street. This consultation is a non-statutory consultation which will feed into the overall Consultation Process for the scheme.

As part of the Regeneration Project for Bridge Street in Dunmore it is envisaged a public space will be developed which will enhance the town of Dunmore and aid its regeneration. Galway County Council is looking for the public’s engagement on this.

A design for the public space has been completed by a landscape architect. The public space will include

•          Upgraded Seating areas for community engagement.

•          New River Planting linking the space to the Dunmore River Walk

•          Rain Garden

•          Public Art Walls

•          Kiosk

•          Semi-Mature Trees 

•          Civic Space

Extent of Benefits of Park Enhancement

• It aims to achieve a greener, healthier, safer, beautiful, sustainable, equitable, harmonious, and wilder environment where people value, benefit from, and are strongly connected to the rest of nature.
• A place where people can walk  in a safe, clean and green urban space, to have free and easy access to high quality urban space.
• To improve the richness, connectivity and biodiversity of Dunmore habitats.
• The space will offer a fantastic mix of measures, outdoor seating areas & disabled accessibility.
• Promotes physical activity through creating spaces for play, recreation, walking and cycling within a safe environment.
