N63 Active Travel Scheme – Abbeyknockmoy Village

 

Public Notice in compliance with Part 11 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended), as set down in Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended).

Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Galway County Council propose to carry out a development in townlands of Culliagh North and Culliagh South comprising of the following works:

  • Provision of a raised two-way shared use cycle and pedestrian facility on the south side of the N63 commencing 340 metres west of the N63/L2128 junction and ending 230 metres east of the N63/L2128 junction.
  • Provision of a raised footpath on the north side of the N63 commencing 340 metres west of the N63/L2128 junction and ending 75 metres east of the N63/L2128 junction.
  • Provision of a pedestrian crossing with raised table 80 metres east of the N63/L2128 junction.
  • Provision of a new N63/L2128 junction layout.
  • Carry out other necessary ancillary works to footpaths, landscaping, road markings etc. to support the new shared facility, pedestrian crossing and revised junction.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for viewing for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal office hours from 8th December  2023   until  15th January 2024  at the following locations:

  • The Planning Office, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91H6KX
  • The National Roads Project Office, City East Business Park, Ballybrit, Galway, H91KT67

Submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing to the Planning Department, Galway County Council, Áras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91H6KX or in electronic format via the special website at Online enquiry system | Planning (localgov.ie) (LGMA Online Portal)  to arrive not later than 29th January 2024.
