In accordance with Part 8 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 as amended, notice is hereby given that
Galway County Council proposes to construct the following works, as described below, on this site.

Site Address: St. Lawrencesfields, Athenry Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given that Galway County Council proposes the construction of a new Fire Station at St. Lawrencefields, Athenry Road, Loughrea, Co. Galway. Proposals include site clearance works, a training tower, a storage shed, signage, landscaping, parking, connections to existing services, public footpaths and all associated site development works.
An Environmental Impact Assessment Screening process was undertaken for the proposed development, and Galway County Council has concluded that the scheme would not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Plean~la for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment. ABP Order -314712-22 has confirmed that the proposed development would not be likely to have significant effects on the environment and that the preparation of an EIA report is not required.
A Stage 1 'Appropriate Assessment' screening was carried out for the proposed development and Galway County Council has concluded that a Stage 2 'Appropriate Assessment' [Natura Impact Statement (NIS)] is not required.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or for purchase for a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, during normal office hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 4.00pm, excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays) for a period of 4 weeks from Friday the 25th August 2023 to the Friday 22nd September 2023, at the following location: Galway County Council, Planning Department (Public Counter), Aras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91 H6KX; and Galway County Council's Consultation Portal at Online enquiry system | Planning (localgov.ie) (LGMA Online Portal)
Submissions or observations in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made in writing to The Planning Department, Galway County Council, P.O. Box No. 27, Aras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91H6KX or in electronic format via the special website at Online enquiry system | Planning (localgov.ie) (LGMA Online Portal) to arrive not later than Friday 06th October 2023.
