Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part 8 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) 

 

Development At: Tuam Town Hall, Market Square, Tuam, Co. Galway in The Townland of Townparks (3rd Division).

 Pursuant to the requirements of the above, Galway County Council propose to carry out the following works: 

  • The renovation and refurbishment of the former Town Hall for use as a multi-functional space to include a creative and enterprise hub and co-working space, offices, meeting rooms and supporting spaces.
  • The proposed development includes connection to existing services, associated site works, new signage and lighting.

 The subject works are located within the Tuam Architectural Conservation Area and include works to a Recorded Protected Structure, NIAH No: 30331029 & RPS No: 27. Tuam town is classified as a monastic town and is a recorded monument (GA029:199).

Plans and Particulars of the proposed development may be inspected / purchased at a fee (not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy) at the offices of the Planning Authority at the: 

  1. Planning Office, Galway County Council, County Hall, Prospect Hill, Galway during office hours 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (Wednesday 10.00 am to 4.00pm) from Friday 11th March 2022 to Friday 8th April 2022.
  2. Tuam Area Office, High Street, Tuam, Co. Galway during office hours 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday (Wednesday 10.00 am to 4.00pm), from Friday 11th March 2022 to Friday 8th April 2022.

A submission or observation in relation to the application may be made in writing to the planning authority, or in electronic format via the special website at https://consult.galway.ie no later than 4pm on Friday 22nd April 2022, and such submissions or observations will be considered by the planning authority in making a decision on the application. The planning authority may grant permission subject to or without conditions or may refuse to grant permission.
