16.1 Kinvara (Cinn Mhara) Small Growth Village

I would implore the galway County Council to make Accessibility a topic of its own. There is sadly little emphasis in the whole draft and kinvara's of the need to address accessibility in kinvara and indeed elsewhere. Actions to address accessibility for those with mobility issues, elderly, parents with small children and buggies and wheelchair users. The population of kinvara of course has all of the above. There needs to be a desire by the county council to implement and monitor adherence to measures that should be included in the plan. Kinvara has a major parking problem and needs a car park. Currently cars park on the footpath! Cars also park in front of the few dipped kerbs which are also frequently blocked by signage or street furniture. The lovely grass area by the Quay mentioned in the Draft plan has no dipped kerb! There needs to be official disabled car parking bays. There needs to be public toilets which should also be accessible to all. The growing population and annual influx of visitors make the need for accessibility and inclusivity to be given more than lip service but to be taken on in a meaningful way that will benefit others and educate the general public.
