Kylemore Abbey is a Benedictine monastery and iconic visitor destination in the heart of Connemara. Owned by The Kylemore Trust, a registered charity and non-profit organisation, the Trust is committed to “preserving the natural beauty and heritage of Kylemore for the Irish nation“. As an organisation Kylemore Abbey has a diverse mission in areas of culture, heritage, ecology, tourism, education, and faith. It is in this widest context of the social, cultural and economic development of Co. Galway that Kylemore Abbey makes submissions to the draft Galway County Development Plan.
