LA 11/21 - Fire Station at Ballygarraun South, Athenry, County Galway

Inaccordance with Part 8 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 as amended, notice is hereby given that Galway County Council proposes the construction of a new Fire Station at Ballygarraun South, Athenry, County Galway. Proposals include site clearance works, a training tower, signage, landscaping, parking, connections to existing services, public footpaths and all associated site development works.
An Environmental Impact Assessment Screening process was undertaken for the proposed development, and Galway County Council has concluded that the scheme would not have a significant effect on the environment, and therefore an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. A Stage 1 'Appropriate Assessment' screening was carried out for the proposed development and Galway County Council has concluded that a Stage 2 'Appropriate Assessment' [Natura Impact Statement (NIS)] is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanala for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment, or on a European site.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or for purchase for a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, during normal office hours (Monday to Friday, 9.00am- 4.00pm), excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays, and subject to managed access arrangements due to Covid-19 control measures, for a period of 4 weeks from the 23 July 2021 to the 20 August 2021, at the following location:
Galway County Council, Planning Department (Public Counter), Aras an Chontae, Prospect Hill, Galway, H91 H6KX.
